Shower Glass on Palm Jumeirah
The Palm’s Garden Homes and Signature Villas have the largest bathrooms of any villa community we cover — master ensuites built as rooms in their own right, with wide openings, statement showers and hardware specified as part of the design, in black and gold as often as chrome. Glass at this level is never a catalogue item: it is walk-in screens sized against a real splash zone, wide hinged doors on hinges chosen for their finish and their load rating, and panels made to the millimetre of a finished, tiled room. We measure, make and fit custom shower glass across the fronds, the Garden Homes and the Signature Villas — 10mm glass throughout — and we also maintain what is already there, renewing seals and hardware in the original finish. Send photos of the room on WhatsApp and the conversation starts there.

Where we cover on Palm Jumeirah
- Garden Homes — the fronds’ family villas: a large master ensuite, several further bathrooms, and usually at least one shower-over-bath in the mix. The recurring brief is a matched set — the ensuite done as a statement piece, the rest of the house specified to the same glass and hardware finish.
- Signature Villas — the largest homes on the Palm, with ensuites to match: wide openings that take two-panel and door-plus-panel layouts, walk-in showers that need a screen sized by splash rather than by habit, and hardware finishes chosen with the room’s other fittings.
- The fronds generally — whichever frond the villa sits on, the pattern is the same: big rooms, high-spec finishes, and glass that has to be made for the opening because no standard size was ever going to fit it. If your home is on the Palm and not in either named category — a renovated Garden Home, a villa under refurbishment — it is covered the same way.

What we do on Palm Jumeirah
- Screens & fixed walk-in glass — one calm panel, no door, sized against the real splash zone; the defining format of the large Palm ensuite.
- Hinged doors — wall-to-glass and glass-to-glass doors, including wide doors and door-plus-fixed-panel layouts for wide openings.
- New shower glass installation — made-to-measure partitions and enclosures, planned around your opening, your tiles and your finish schedule.
- Sliding doors — for the smaller guest bathrooms even Palm villas have.
- Bathtub glass screens — fixed and hinged screens sealed at the bath edge, finished to match the room.
- Shower glass repair — leaks, dropped doors, worn seals and tired hardware, diagnosed from photos first — with replacement hardware matched to the existing finish.
- Prices, honestly explained — what moves a quote up or down on large, finish-led work. (This page carries no figures of its own.)
Typical Palm bathrooms, and what they ask of the glass
A Palm master ensuite is a sizing exercise before it is anything else. The openings are wide — wider than a single door should honestly span — so the layout is usually a composition: a fixed panel with a hinged door hung from it, a pair of panels closing a wide front, or a walk-in screen with no door at all. Each has a correct answer per room, and the walk-in question in particular is arithmetic, not taste: how wide a fixed screen must be to stop splash depends on the head’s position and the spray it throws, which is worked through in our guide to fixed screen width and splash. Corner and L-shaped ensuites follow the same logic as anywhere — our corner and L-shaped layout guide covers how those are resolved — with the difference that on the Palm the runs are longer and the panels correspondingly larger.
The second Palm theme is finish. In Garden Homes and Signature Villas the shower hardware is part of a finish schedule that runs through the whole bathroom — taps, towel rails, hinges, handles, channels — and black and gold are specified as often as chrome. That makes hinge and handle selection a design decision with engineering inside it: the finish has to be available on hardware rated for the door’s weight, which is exactly the ground our shower hinge types and finishes guide covers. It also shapes repairs: a worn hinge or a tired handle on a gold-finished enclosure is replaced in gold, matched to the set — not with whatever is on the shelf.
What goes wrong, when it does, is the standard list at a higher specification: seals and silicone perishing in rooms used every day, large doors settling on their hinges, and — in a waterfront community — metal finishes and fixings that live in sea air and show it sooner than they would inland, which is an argument for renewing hardware on condition rather than waiting for failure. None of it needs drama: photographed, diagnosed, and either repaired in the matching finish or quoted honestly as a replacement.

How it works
- Send photos on WhatsApp — wide shots of the room and the shower, a close-up of any fault or of the hardware finish to be matched, your rough sizes and whether you are in a Garden Home or a Signature Villa. Most quotes and diagnoses start there.
- We measure — the opening is the specification. True widths, levels and swing or slide paths are checked on site before any glass is cut — on wide openings, panel-by-panel.
- Glass is made — panels are cut and finished to those measurements, with hardware in your chosen finish — chrome, black or gold.
- Install and seal — fitted and aligned on the day; water testing and first use follow the sealant’s curing time, confirmed in writing at handover; a repair is checked with you watching.
Frequently asked questions
Our ensuite opening is very wide — can one door really cover it?
Usually it should not try. Wide openings are composed instead: a fixed panel with a door hung from it, two panels meeting, or a walk-in screen with no door. Which composition suits your room is decided at measurement from the opening’s width, the swing or splash geometry, and how you use the shower — we will lay out the options with the measurements in hand.
Can the hardware really be matched in black or gold — hinges, handles, channels, everything?
Yes — complete hardware sets are available in chrome, black and gold, and on a Palm ensuite the set is specified as a set, so the hinges carry the door’s weight in the same finish as the handle and channels present to the room. Send a photo of your existing finish if the work is a match to an installed bathroom.
We want a walk-in shower with no door. How do we know the screen will actually keep the floor dry?
By sizing it to the spray, not by rule of thumb: the head’s type and position, the distance it throws water, and the room’s length set the panel’s width and placement. That is settled at measurement, and if your room is one where a screen alone will not hold the splash, we will say so and quote the door option instead.
Our gold-finished hinges have worn and the door has dropped slightly. Repair or replace the door?
Almost certainly a hardware job, not new glass: dropped doors are adjusted or re-hung, and worn hinges are renewed in the matching gold finish. The glass is replaced only if it is itself damaged. Send a close-up of the hinges and a short video of the door moving for the verdict.
We are renovating a Garden Home — when should the glass be measured?
After the tiling is finished, and ideally once the bathroom’s other fittings are set, so the finish schedule can be matched exactly. Glass is made to the finished opening, not the builder’s drawing. Message us when your tiler is done and we will book the measure.
