THE PRICE TABLE

All prices for 10mm glass. Your exact quote is confirmed after a free measurement — no surprises added later.

Read the table the way it is written: these are the figures for the stated system at typical sizes. Your opening’s size, your hardware finish and your site can move the final quote within — or occasionally beyond — the range, which is exactly why the confirmed figure follows the measuring visit and not the other way round.

The word “from” in the first row is doing honest work. A bath screen’s entry figure covers a standard fixed panel over a typical bath edge, and the number moves when the edge, the length or the type changes — a half door or a sliding bath screen is a different build from the same starting point. The ranges on the other two rows exist for the same reason: a hinged or sliding shower at a compact size, in chrome, on a straightforward site sits towards one end of its range; a larger opening, a heavier hardware set or a difficult site moves it along the range. The confirmed quote replaces all of this with one figure, for your bathroom, in writing.

WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

Size of the opening

Glass is made panel by panel, so the opening is the first driver. A wider or taller opening means more glass, and beyond a certain size it also means heavier hardware to carry it — bigger hinges, stronger rollers. Two bathrooms in the same apartment block can legitimately price differently on size alone, which is why a per-square-metre shortcut misleads: it prices the glass and ignores everything the glass needs to work.

Glass thickness

Our standard is 10mm toughened safety glass, and the table above is priced in 10mm. Thickness is a specification decision — door size, hinge load and fixing span make it — and it is settled at the measuring visit, not traded down silently to make a quote look cheaper. A quote that does not name its thickness is not yet a quote you can compare.

System type

The four systems are built differently, so they cost differently. A fixed panel is glass and fixings. A hinged door adds rated hinges, seals and the alignment work. A sliding door adds a track and running gear on top of that. A bath screen is its own case, sized to the bath edge. The table gives guide prices for the three systems above; no guide figure is published for fixed and walk-in panels — the number depends on the specification, confirmed after measurement, for the reasons the factors on this page explain.

Hardware finish

Hinges, handles, brackets, channels and rollers come in chrome, black or gold. Finish is a real factor in a quote — the hardware set is matched across the whole enclosure, so the choice is made once, before fabrication, and priced as a set rather than piece by piece on the day.

Seals and silicone

The seals and silicone lines that keep water in are part of a proper installation, not an extra to be argued over later. They are a small part of any quote and a large part of whether the shower still behaves in two years’ time — a cheap quote that quietly leaves sealing out has not saved you the money, it has moved the cost to a repair visit.

Site access

The last factor is the building itself: the floor you are on, lift and parking arrangements, permits in managed towers, and the condition of the bathroom the glass is going into. None of it is padding — it is the difference between a straightforward fitting and a difficult one, and a proper quote says which it has priced.

FROM PHOTOS TO A FIXED QUOTE

The sequence is simple, and it exists because an exact price needs exact sizes. First, photos: send wide shots of the bathroom, a rough width and height, your emirate and the system you want on WhatsApp. From that you get a preliminary estimate — an honest placing of your job in the right range, and a straight answer if anything in the photos changes the picture. Then the measuring visit: free of charge, we measure the opening properly — widths at several heights, plumb, floor fall, swing or slide clearances. Then the fixed quote: confirmed from the measurements, for the system and finish you chose, before any work is booked.

A preliminary estimate and a confirmed quote are different documents, and trouble starts when either side treats one as the other. What makes an estimate useful is the quality of what you send: one photo along the shower showing the whole opening, one of each corner, the shower head’s position, and rough sizes to the nearest centimetre you can manage. With that, the estimate is a real placing of the job — and the measuring visit then confirms it as a fixed figure, adjusted only for what the photos could not show: wall plumb, floor fall, and the true panel sizes. REPAIR PRICES — WHY THERE IS NO TABLE

You will not find repair figures on this page, because there is no honest standard repair price: the same symptom — a leak, a drag, a door that will not close — can come from parts with completely different costs and labour attached.
