Shower Glass in Al Rahmaniya & Hoshi

Al Rahmaniya, Barashi and Hoshi are Sharjah’s established villa districts — family homes that have been lived in for years, extended, repainted and re-fitted room by room, on streets where the houses long predate the new master communities. Glass in homes like these is rarely new, and that is the honest starting point for this page. ShowerTubGlass repairs the shower glass that is already in Al Rahmaniya and Hoshi homes — doors dropped on worn hinges, seals perished along their whole length, silicone long past its life — and fits new made-to-measure enclosures where the old glass has genuinely finished. Everything new is 10mm glass with hardware in chrome, black or gold, resolved around the opening you actually have. Send photos of your bathroom on WhatsApp and the conversation starts there; the wider picture is on our shower glass in Sharjah page.

The homes and bathrooms of these districts

These are established residential districts of family villas — substantial homes, many bathrooms per house, and a building stock that has been in daily service far longer than Sharjah’s new communities:

  • Master ensuites are villa-scale, with hinged enclosures fitted when the homes were built or last renovated — which means the hardware on them has real years behind it.
  • The glass is usually sound; the moving parts are not. Toughened panels last. Hinges, seals, sweeps and silicone are consumables by comparison, and in long-lived-in homes they are the difference between a shower that works and one that leaks, drags and rattles.
  • Family bathrooms often pair a bath with a shower over it, where the original screen — if one was ever fitted — is typically the oldest glass in the house.
  • Every home is its own specification. Established districts were built plot by plot and altered family by family; no two openings match, and nothing here is ordered to a standard size.

What we do in Al Rahmaniya & Hoshi

  1. Shower glass repair — the first call, not the last resort: leaks, dragging doors, worn seals and tired hardware, diagnosed from photos before anyone visits.
  2. New shower glass installation — made-to-measure partitions and enclosures planned around your opening, when replacement is the honest answer or a bathroom is renovated.
  3. Hinged doors — wall-to-glass and glass-to-glass doors; re-hung, renewed or newly fitted where the room gives the door its swing.
  4. Sliding doors — for the smaller bathrooms in the house, where a swing has nowhere to go.
  5. Screens & fixed walk-in glass — one calm panel, no door, sized against the real splash zone.
  6. Bathtub glass screens — fixed and hinged screens sealed at the bath edge, replacing aged screens and curtains alike.
  7. Prices, honestly explained — the factors that move a quote, explained on the price guide — no figures are published on this page.

Typical bathrooms here — and what goes wrong in them

The repair pattern in established districts is consistent, because the cause is consistent: time.

  • Doors drop on worn hinges. A hinged door hangs its whole weight on two or three hinges, and after years of daily use the door settles — catching the floor or tray, closing with a gap, leaking at the corner it used to defend. Whether a hinge set can be adjusted, repaired or should be replaced is its own decision, worked through in our guide to broken or worn shower hinges.
  • Seals perish along their whole length. The rubber down the door edge and across the bottom hardens and shrinks; the door looks closed and the water leaves anyway — how a hinged line is meant to stay defended is set out in our guide to how hinged doors keep water in.
  • Silicone lets go quietly. Sealant around trays and panels lifts at the ends and blackens, and the leak it was stopping reappears inside the wall or floor edge, where it shows late and costs more than the reseal would have.
  • Screens and fittings corrode at the fixings. In older bathrooms the metalwork ages before the glass does — pitted hinges, tired rollers on early sliding doors, handles worked loose. The glass is assessed on its own merits; sound panels keep their hardware renewed rather than being replaced wholesale.

The verdict is given from photos first, and it cuts both ways: we will tell you when a door needs a hinge set and an afternoon, and we will tell you when the honest answer is new glass.

How it works

  1. Send photos on WhatsApp — wide shots of the shower or bath, a close-up of any fault — the hinge, the seal, the gap — your rough sizes, and that you are in Al Rahmaniya or Hoshi. Most diagnoses start there.
  2. We measure — the opening is the specification. True widths, levels and swing or slide paths are checked on site before any glass is cut, and repair scope is confirmed against the actual hardware.
  3. Glass is made — panels are cut and finished to those measurements, with hardware matched to your chosen finish; repairs are done with the correct hinge and seal sets for the door as found.
  4. Install and seal — fitted and aligned on the day; water testing and first use follow the sealant’s curing time, confirmed in writing at handover; a repair is checked with you watching.

Frequently asked questions

Our shower door has dropped and scrapes the floor. Is that the end of the door?

Usually not. Scraping means the door has settled on its hinges; adjustment or hinge renewal restores the gap, and perished seals are renewed in the same scope. The glass itself is replaced only if it is chipped at a hinge, cracked, or the door was wrong for the opening from the start — photos tell us which yours is.

The shower looks fine but water gets out underneath. What is failing?

Most often the bottom sweep and the seals, or silicone that has lifted where the tray meets the glass. All are renewal work while the panels are sound. Send a photo of the door line and the floor after a shower and the likely culprit is usually visible.

Our bathroom is old. Is it worth putting new glass in it?

If the room is staying, yes — a made-to-measure enclosure transforms the daily use of an older bathroom more cheaply than re-tiling it, and it is measured to the opening as it stands, out-of-square corners and all. If a full renovation is planned soon, do the glass after the tiling, and we will tell you that from your photos.

Do you cover Barashi and Hoshi as well as Al Rahmaniya?

Yes — this page covers the three districts together, and the neighbouring Sharjah areas named on the Sharjah hub (Tilal City, Al Zahia, Aljada, Masaar and Sharjah Sustainable City among them) have their own pages. If your street is not named anywhere, message us: if we cannot cover you we will say so plainly.

How do we get a price for repair or new glass?

Send photos and rough sizes on WhatsApp. Repairs are scoped from the fault and the hardware the door actually has; new glass is priced from the measured opening, the system and the finish — the price guide explains what moves a quote, and the exact figure follows measurement, never precedes it.
