Shower Glass in Aljada

Aljada is Arada’s new Sharjah community — a young development of apartment buildings and villas, still growing, where the bathrooms are new and much of the glass story is about finishing them properly. ShowerTubGlass measures, makes and fits custom shower glass across Aljada: sliding doors and bath screens that make compact apartment bathrooms work, hinged and fixed glass for the villas, and completion work where a developer’s specification stopped short. Everything is made to measure in 10mm glass, with hardware in chrome, black or gold, resolved around the opening you actually have. Send photos of your bathroom on WhatsApp and the conversation starts there; the wider picture is on our shower glass in Sharjah page.

The homes and bathrooms of Aljada

Aljada’s housing comes in two distinct types, and the glass work follows the split:

  • Apartments are the volume of the community. Their bathrooms are compact and planned tight: a shower opening with no room for a swinging door, or a shower over the bath. These are the rooms sliding doors exist for — the case set out in our guide to sliding doors for small bathrooms — with fitted bath screens the other staple.
  • Villas follow the modern family pattern: master ensuites with room for a hinged door or a fixed panel with a door beside it, family bathrooms, and guest bathrooms in between. Corner and L-shaped layouts appear where the ensuite wraps a wall — the arrangements our corner and L-shaped enclosure layouts guide works through.
  • Everything is young. Walls, tiles and fittings are new, and the existing glass — where any was fitted — is developer-grade: serviceable, but often the first thing an owner upgrades once the home is lived in.

What we do in Aljada

  1. New shower glass installation — made-to-measure partitions and enclosures planned around your opening, from a single fixed panel to a full corner enclosure.
  2. Sliding doors — panels that stay in the line of the opening and ask for no swing room; the apartment bathroom’s natural answer.
  3. Bathtub glass screens — fixed and hinged screens sealed at the bath edge, instead of a curtain, in the many Aljada bathrooms where the shower sits over the bath.
  4. Hinged doors — wall-to-glass and glass-to-glass doors where the room gives the door its swing, mainly in the villas.
  5. Screens & fixed walk-in glass — one calm panel, no door, sized against the real splash zone.
  6. Shower glass repair — leaks, dragging doors, worn seals and tired hardware, diagnosed from photos before anyone visits; in a young community this is usually early-life settling and developer glass, not age.
  7. Prices, honestly explained — the factors that move a quote, explained on the price guide — no figures are published on this page.

Typical Aljada bathrooms — and what owners do with them

Because the community is young, the pattern here is completion and upgrade rather than failure:

  • The apartment shower that soaks the floor. Compact bathrooms are often handed over with a short fixed panel or an open entry, and daily use shows the splash zone is wider than the panel. The honest fixes are a longer panel, a sliding door across the opening, or a door added to the panel — chosen from the room, not a catalogue.
  • Curtains over baths. The shower-over-bath is standard in the apartments and usually starts life with a rail and curtain. A sealed glass screen is the single most common upgrade in these homes.
  • Developer glass, replaced properly. Thin or basic framed screens that flex and leak at the corners are swapped for made-to-measure 10mm enclosures once owners renovate or simply tire of mopping.
  • Villa ensuites finished to match the house. In the villas, the ensuite is where the finish is chosen deliberately — hardware in black or chrome to match the fittings, a layout planned around the real opening rather than the developer’s standard item.
  • Early-life faults, not age. Where something does go wrong in a young bathroom, it is settling and specification: a door a fraction out of true as the building dries, seals that were the minimum the developer could fit, silicone lines applied at build pace. Diagnosed from photos, most of it is adjustment and renewal — quick to scope honestly precisely because nothing has had time to wear out.

Send photos of the bathroom as it stands and we will tell you which of those routes yours actually needs — including when the answer is “what you have is fine.”

How it works

  1. Send photos on WhatsApp — wide shots of the shower or bath, a close-up of any existing glass, your rough sizes, and that you are in Aljada. Most quotes and diagnoses start there.
  2. We measure — the opening is the specification. True widths, levels and swing or slide paths are checked on site before any glass is cut.
  3. Glass is made — panels are cut and finished to those measurements, with hardware matched to your chosen finish.
  4. Install and seal — fitted and aligned on the day; water testing and first use follow the sealant’s curing time, confirmed in writing at handover; a repair is checked with you watching.

Frequently asked questions

Our Aljada apartment bathroom is small. What glass suits it?

Usually a sliding door across the shower opening, or a fitted screen over the bath if the shower is over the tub. A sliding panel stays in the line of the opening, so the door takes no floor space from a compact room — send photos and rough sizes and we will confirm which fits your layout.

The developer fitted a short fixed panel and water escapes. Can it be fixed without starting again?

Often, yes. Depending on the room, the panel can be extended, a door can be hung from it, or the opening can be closed with a sliding panel — the right route depends on the splash zone and the opening, and it is settled from photos and measurements, not guessed.

We rent our apartment. Is new glass a sensible conversation?

It can be, where the landlord agrees — a bath screen or a door added to an existing panel is a modest, reversible-feeling improvement compared with re-doing a bathroom. Get the landlord’s agreement first; we will describe exactly what would be fitted so you can put it to them plainly.

Do we need building management permission for glass work in an apartment?

Many buildings ask for a work permit or NOC for contractor visits, and some set working hours and lift-booking rules. Check with your building management first; we can supply the job details you need, and we will work within the slot they give us.

How do we get a price for an Aljada bathroom?

Send photos and rough sizes on WhatsApp. Made-to-measure glass is priced from the measured opening, the system and the hardware finish — the price guide explains what moves a quote up or down, and the exact figure follows measurement, never precedes it.
