Shower Glass in Khalifa City

Khalifa City is Abu Dhabi’s villa heartland — street after street of family homes, and bathrooms built to a villa scale: master ensuites with wide shower openings, family bathrooms that serve a whole floor, and guest bathrooms that still have more room in them than most apartments give their main bathroom. ShowerTubGlass measures, makes and fits custom shower glass across Khalifa City, and repairs the glass that is already there. Everything is made to measure in 10mm glass, with hardware in chrome, black or gold, resolved around the opening you actually have — the true width, the corners that are not quite square, the swing path a wide door really needs. Send photos of your bathroom on WhatsApp and the conversation starts there; the wider picture is on our shower glass in Abu Dhabi page.

The homes and bathrooms of Khalifa City

Khalifa City’s housing is villas almost throughout — detached and semi-detached family homes, many of them large, most with more than one bathroom worth doing properly. That housing stock shapes the glass work:

  • Master ensuites are the centre of it: wide openings, often corner or L-shaped layouts where the shower wraps a wall, and room for a proper hinged door or a fixed panel with a door beside it — the layouts our corner and L-shaped enclosure layouts guide works through.
  • Family bathrooms tend to pair a shower over or beside a bath, which makes bathtub glass screens the common second job in the house.
  • Secondary and guest bathrooms are smaller, and in those the villa rules relax a little — a sliding door that needs no swing room is often the honest fit, the case set out in our guide to sliding doors for small bathrooms.
  • Openings are generous but rarely true. Villa-scale openings are wide, and wide glass is heavy glass; walls and floors at this scale are seldom perfectly plumb, which is exactly why these panels are measured one by one rather than ordered to a standard size.

What we do in Khalifa City

  1. New shower glass installation — made-to-measure partitions and enclosures planned around your opening, from a single fixed panel to a full corner enclosure.
  2. Shower glass repair — the first call, not the last resort: leaks, dragging doors, worn seals and tired hardware, diagnosed from photos before anyone visits.
  3. Hinged doors — wall-to-glass and glass-to-glass doors; the villa ensuite’s natural layout where the room gives the door its swing.
  4. Sliding doors — for the smaller bathrooms in the house, where a swing has nowhere to go.
  5. Screens & fixed walk-in glass — one calm panel, no door, sized against the real splash zone.
  6. Bathtub glass screens — fixed and hinged screens sealed at the bath edge, instead of a curtain.
  7. Prices, honestly explained — the factors that move a quote, explained on the price guide — no figures are published on this page.

Typical Khalifa City bathrooms — and what goes wrong in them

The repair pattern in Khalifa City is a pattern of scale. Everything here is bigger, and bigger glass punishes tired hardware sooner:

  • Wide doors drop on their hinges. A large hinged door carries real weight on two or three hinges; over years it settles, the bottom edge drifts toward the floor or the tray, and the door starts to drag, catch, or close with a gap at the top. Adjustment or hinge renewal usually restores it — the glass itself is rarely the problem.
  • Long seals perish along their whole length. Villa ensuites have long seal runs — down the door edge, along the bottom sweep — and when the rubber hardens, water finds the line it used to close. How a hinged line is meant to stay defended is set out in our guide to how hinged doors keep water in.
  • Silicone lets go quietly. The sealant lines around trays and panels age, lift at the ends and blacken; the shower looks fine and leaks anyway, usually into the wall or the floor edge where it shows late.
  • Fixed panels with open gaps. Some villa ensuites were fitted with a fixed panel and a wide open entry that has never quite kept the spray in. Where the panel is sound, a hinged door can often be hung from it to close the layout properly.

All of it is everyday repair work while the glass is sound — and if a panel is cracked or a fitting has failed beyond honest repair, we will say so from your photos before any visit is booked.

How it works

  1. Send photos on WhatsApp — wide shots of the shower or bath, a close-up of any fault, your rough sizes, and that you are in Khalifa City. Most quotes and diagnoses start there.
  2. We measure — the opening is the specification. True widths, levels and swing or slide paths are checked on site before any glass is cut.
  3. Glass is made — panels are cut and finished to those measurements, with hardware matched to your chosen finish.
  4. Install and seal — fitted and aligned on the day; water testing and first use follow the sealant’s curing time, confirmed in writing at handover; a repair is checked with you watching.

Frequently asked questions

Our ensuite opening is very wide. What layout suits it?

Usually a hinged door with a fixed panel beside it, or a full corner enclosure: the fixed panel takes part of the width so the door itself stays a weight its hinges can carry for years, and the wide opening becomes an asset instead of a strain. The layout is settled at measurement, from the true width and where the door can swing.

The shower door in our villa drags on the floor. Is that a repair or a new door?

Usually a repair. Dragging means the door has dropped on its hinges; adjustment or hinge replacement restores the gap, and perished seals are renewed in the same visit’s scope. If the glass is chipped at a hinge or cracked, that is a different conversation — we will tell you from photos first.

Can you fit bath screens as well as shower enclosures in the same home?

Yes — family bathrooms in Khalifa City often pair the ensuite enclosure with a screen over the bath in the children’s or family bathroom. Send photos of both in one message and they are quoted and measured together.

Do you cover all of Khalifa City?

Yes — the community pages name the neighbouring areas we also cover from the Abu Dhabi hub (Yas Island, Al Reem Island, Al Raha and Saadiyat Island among them). If your street is not named anywhere, message us: coverage grows by demand, and if we cannot cover you we will say so plainly.

How do we get a price for a Khalifa City villa bathroom?

Send photos and rough sizes on WhatsApp. Made-to-measure glass is priced from the measured opening, the system and the hardware finish — the price guide explains what moves a quote up or down, and the exact figure follows measurement, never precedes it.
